Hospital Financial Reporting Lead

Are you passionate about promoting transparency in healthcare finance and ensuring equitable access to quality care for all?  The Office of Community Health Systems is seeking a dynamic individual to join our team as the Hospital Financial Reporting Lead for our Charity Care Program.

 

This full-time, project, Health Services Consultant 4 (HSC4) is currently funded through May 30, 2025.

Contribute to greater data transparency and quality, informing efforts to develop health policy by providing information necessary for analysis of health care issues.  Help chart a course for the program during a period of growth and change, as we respond to recent legislation that requires additional hospital financial, charity care, and community benefit reporting.

As the Hospital Financial Reporting Lead within the Charity Care Program, and a Technical Expert, you will:

  • Ensure the integrity, accuracy, and timely completion of hospital financial reporting and charity care reporting requirements.
  • Evaluate, monitor, and analyze community hospital data and produces reports and visualizations that display trends in charity care, health care utilization and financial trends over time.
  • Lead complex policy activities such as rulemaking, legislative implementation, and bill analysis, including responding to information requests from a variety of internal and external partners. This position is responsible for preparing standard and ad hoc reports for internal and external partners.
  • Serve as the lead technical specialist and expert for the Hospital Financial Data Repository (HOFIDAR), managing hospital data collection and database administration, and engages with HTS to identify and solve problems and manage software modifications to ensure continuity of database functionality.
  • Option 1: Eight (8) or more years of experience working in the hospital industry, public health, or allied field.
  • Option 2: A bachelor's degree or higher; AND five (5) or more years of experience working in the hospital industry, public health, or allied field.

AND (for BOTH the above options):

Two (2) or more years of experience working with hospital financial reporting and accounting methods.
