Ebola: Essential Knowledge for Health Professionals is an online course offered by the University of Amsterdam, Utrecht University. This course provides an overview of the fundamental knowledge any health professional should have with expected or confirmed cases of Ebola. Topics to be covered in this course include the epidemiology of the disease, its pathophysiology and transmission, the clinical presentation of the disease, differential diagnosis, and confirmation of this disease. The general therapeutic approach to the care of this disease will also be discussed, including vaccination and recent drug developments. This 9-week course is taught using a series of videos and readings, in addition to graded assignments that are used to evaluate individual’s understanding of the material. Graded assignments are in the form of quizzes, papers, and a clinical presentation. Those who pass all graded assignments will complete the course.
