Epidemics – The Dynamics of Infectious Disease is an online course offered by The Pennsylvania State University. This course explores the major themes associated with infectious disease dynamics, including the dynamics of the flu and various childhood diseases. Social networks will also be examined to determine how they affect the transmission of diseases. Other topics that will be covered include vaccination, disease surveillance, control mechanisms and digital epidemiology. This 8-week course is taught through a serious of videos and readings, with graded assignments due every week to show mastery of the subject. It is recommended that a commitment of a total of 20 hours is needed to complete all videos and quizzes. Those who pass all graded assignments will complete the course.
