Epidemiology in Public Health Practice is an online course offered by Johns Hopkins University. This course defines the role of professional epidemiologists as it relates to public health services, functions, and competencies. In addition, problem solving methodology will be introduced and it will be demonstrated how this methodology can be used in various setting to identify and solve problems and evaluate interventions. Individuals also have the opportunity to look at public health data systems and how data can be used to calculate measures of disease burdens in populations. This beginner level course is 4 weeks long and only requires 2 hours a week to complete all course materials. Modules consist of a series of videos, with quizzes every week to gauge the individual’s mastery over the subject. Those who pass all graded assignments will complete the course.
