About the Position

The individual chosen for this position will provide direct care services to each person living in the Sumrall Community Homes. Provide active treatment in the areas of daily living, household skills, vocational skills, communication and physical therapy; perform cooking and housekeeping duties. Applicant must have a valid Mississippi Drivers License and a safe driving record as outlined in the Ellisville State School Manual.

Examples of Work

First-level Support Care position accountable for assisting residents with activities of daily living such as feeding, bathing, bed making, shaving, dressing and other related tasks. Assists in checking vital signs, height and weight as assigned; collects and maintains records of fluid intake and output; reports on the condition of residents; and participates in rehabilitation, ambulation, and transfers. May perform environment of care checks.

Paid Personal Leave and Sick Leave
Full-time employees receive paid time off for personal needs and for sick leave. Leave begins accruing after one month of employment and may be used as it is accrued. Employees earn approximately 18 days of personal leave annually and 12 days of sick leave annually.

In accordance with federal law, all employees serving in the armed forces or the military reserves are entitled to 15 days per year for military training.
