What You Will Be Doing:
This position is in Anchorage, within the Division of Senior and Disabilities Services (SDS) as a Harmony Database Administrator. Under the supervision of the Research and Analysis Unit Manager, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing system administration activities of the Harmony database, a complex relational database utilized for managing the majority of the division’s Medicaid-funded processes and activities. In this position, you will serve as a supervisor and subject matter expert in the areas of system administration, database functionality, configuration, improvement monitoring, and coordination of all technical activities. You will also provide analysis, research, and report development needed to support the day-to-day business operation of this division as it relates to the Harmony database.

The Research and Analysis Unit provides information, research, and analysis products to State and national stakeholders including representatives of the Division of Senior and Disabilities Services (SDS) and the Department of Health. The unit specializes in business process development and diagramming, data maintenance, statistical analysis, report writing and publishing, account management for Harmony database users, and training associated with the use of SDS data systems and processes. As an Information Technology (IT) liaison, the unit advises the division on technical developments and collaborates with the Department of Health, and Enterprise Technology Services on a variety of projects.
