Position Overview: 

The Program Coordinator provides direct support to the Clinical Quality Management (CQM) and Immunization Programs at Harris County Public Health under the guidance of the Director of Nursing. This role is responsible for ensuring program efficiency, compliance with clinical standards, and quality service delivery across the Community Health & Wellness Division. The Program Coordinator manages data reporting, quality control processes, staff training coordination, and regulatory compliance to enhance healthcare outcomes and immunization program effectiveness within the community.

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Quality Assurance & Compliance: Organizes and facilitates quarterly quality meetings, managing documentation, action items, and timely report completion. Ensures program compliance with clinical standards and regulatory requirements while coordinating quality improvement initiatives with program managers.
  • Training & Credentialing Oversight: Manages comprehensive employee credentials database, including licensures, certifications, and training records. Coordinates staff training programs and ensures compliance with Harris County Public Health standards, including new staff on-boarding requirements.
  • Data Management & Program Evaluation: Collects, analyzes, and reports program performance data to measure effectiveness and compliance with public health standards. Develops and presents performance reports for leadership, monitoring metrics and providing recommendations for service improvement.
  • Program Coordination and Monitoring: Oversees program activities and deliverables to ensure timely execution and compliance with project goals. Manages grant-related responsibilities, including budget oversight, spending approval, and coordination with Finance Team.
  • Policy & Procedure Management: Maintains and updates program policies, procedures, and protocols, ensuring accessibility via the department's intranet.
  • Administrative & Operational Support: Manages official documentation, including reports, purchase orders, and filing systems, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Emergency Response Support: Coordinates public health emergency response efforts, including immunization outreach and clinical quality management initiatives.

Requirements

Education: 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Health or Business related field

Licenses: 

  • Valid Texas driver's license upon hire

Experience: 

  • At least two (2) year of experience performing administrative office duties in a healthcare setting

Position Type, and Typical Hours of Work: 

  • Full Time | Regular | Grant-funded
  • Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with required flexibility for evening and weekend operations based on community needs
  • Must be available for emergency response activities and able to travel within Harris County as needed.

Work Environment: 

  • This job operates in an office environment and mobile clinic settings. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.

Physical Demands: 

  • This role requires the ability to lift, carry, push, pull up to 30 pounds, bending & standing for extended periods at a time. Work in various environmental conditions and assist with mobile clinic setup and breakdown.
