Position Overview: 

Under the direction of the Immunization Program Manager, manages and coordinates Harris County Public Health's mobile immunization services. This position is responsible for overseeing mobile vaccination clinics, ensuring effective service delivery, maintaining compliance with public health standards, and coordinating with community partners to expand immunization access throughout Harris County.


Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Plans and directs mobile vaccination clinic operations, including staff scheduling, site logistics, vaccine inventory management, and quality assurance protocols.
  • Supervises and develops clinical and support staff, implementing standardized vaccination procedures and ensuring optimal service delivery across all mobile sites.
  • Establishes and maintains partnerships with community organizations to expand vaccination access, coordinating site arrangements and evaluating service delivery effectiveness.
  • Implements comprehensive quality control systems for vaccine handling, storage, and administration according to federal and state guidelines, while monitoring program performance metrics.
  • Develops and executes strategic initiatives to enhance mobile vaccination coverage rates, including special tasks involved with responding to emergency events.

Requirements

Education: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Healthcare Administration, Nursing, or related field

Licenses/Certifications:

  • Valid Texas Driver's License upon hire

Experience:

  • At least three (3) years of experience in public health or healthcare operations
  • At least one (1) year of supervisory experience in a clinical setting

  • Master's degree in Public Health, Healthcare Administration, Nursing, or related field

General Information

Position Type, and Typical Hours of Work: 

  • Full Time | Regular | Grant-funded
  • Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with required flexibility for evening and weekend operations based on community needs
  • Must be available for emergency response activities and able to travel within Harris County as needed.

Work Environment: 

  • This job operates in an office environment and mobile clinic settings. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.

Physical Demands: 

  • This role requires the ability to lift, carry, push, pull up to 30 pounds, bending & standing for extended periods at a time. Work in various environmental conditions and assist with mobile clinic setup and breakdown.
