DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Public Health Program Associate 2, you will serve as the Compliance Reviewer in the Product Compliance and Research Division (PCARD) and work closely with the PCARD team and the department’s legal counsel. In this role, you will coordinate the review of required approvals for Medical Marijuana Organizations (MMO), medical marijuana products, promotional materials, packaging, and labeling. This will include providing guidance and technical assistance to MMOs regarding the interpretation of program requirements and coordinating program delivery. Working with the PCARD manager, you will review product, labeling, packaging, and marketing requests and appropriately respond. You can expect to research medical marijuana product industry trends. Additionally, you will apply a standardized review of product approval submissions based on regulations, including using federal databases related to food and drug administration.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) full-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as a Public Health Program Associate 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • A bachelor's degree and one year of professional experience in the development, analysis, or monitoring of programs, grants, or contracts in health, human services, social or behavioral services, health care services, or health insurance; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.
