About the Position

This is a Non-State, TIME-LIMITED (14) position. The individual selected for this position will provide public health nursing services for county health department clinics within a multi-county public health district as assigned. Duties include conducting patient assessments, developing treatment plans, providing health education, referring patients to care, conducting disease control activities, performing direct patient care procedures, home visitation, and serving on emergency/disaster response teams.

Preferred Qualifications

Typically requires a Certificate from an Approved School of Nursing, Licensure as an LPN and 0-4 years of experience.

Examples of Work

First-level Nursing position accountable for administering medication and other prescribed treatments, taking vital signs, assisting with care plan activities, observing and reporting patient conditions and behaviors, and participating in rehabilitation, ambulation, and transfers. Communicates with doctors, patients, and families, and educates patients on care. May provide transport and/or escort to offsite appointments and application of restraints when necessary. Mentors and delegates work to CNAs.
