Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Seven years of experience in accounting or auditing; OR

Six years of full-time experience in any field plus twenty-four semester hours in one or a combination of the following: accounting, auditing, business, finance, management, economics, quantitative methods, or information systems plus four years of experience in accounting or auditing; OR

A bachelor’s degree with twenty-four semester hours in one or a combination of the following: accounting, auditing, business, finance, management, economics, quantitative methods, or information systems plus four years of experience in accounting or auditing; OR

A bachelor’s degree in accounting, auditing, finance, business administration, management, economics, information systems, quantitative methods, or statistics plus four years of experience in accounting or auditing; OR

A bachelor’s degree plus a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) or Certified Government Audit Professional (CGAP) designation plus four years of experience in accounting or auditing; OR

An advanced degree in accounting, auditing, finance, business administration, management, economics, information systems, quantitative methods, or statistics plus three years of experience in accounting or auditing; OR

A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license, Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) designation plus two years of experience in accounting or auditing.

Qualifications

FUNCTION OF WORK:
To manage an audit program.
LEVEL OF WORK:
Manager.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED:
Typically from an Auditor Director or equivalent-level administrator. 
SUPERVISION EXERCISED:
Typically over professional auditing staff. 
LOCATION OF WORK:
May be used by all state agencies

JOB DISTINCTIONS:
Differs from Auditor Supervisor by the presence of management duties over an audit division.
Differs from Audit Director by the absence of administrating all activities of an audit division.

Assists in developing and enforcing audit standards, policies, and procedures for agency.
Serves as assistant to the chief auditor of agency.
Assists the Audit Director in the development of the agency audit plan and program.
Assists or coordinates the development of policies and procedures for the audit division.
Interprets laws, rules, and regulations which will impact audit program at agency and ensures agency compliance with all mandated changes.
