Complex Needs Manager
The Iowa Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Division of Medicaid, Bureau of Program Integrity and Compliance, is seeking a Federal Authority Oversight Officer to join our team!
The Social Worker 6 is a full-time opportunity, Monday-Friday with typical hours being from 8 am – 4:30 pm. This position serves as a statewide resource, working on complex/large scale initiatives; conducts in-depth case review to provide consultation and guidance for urgent member issues involving multiple stakeholders including MHDS, MCOs, Iowa Medicaid vendors, ACFS, providers and the State Ombudsman's office.
This position provides consultative services in the development of care plans with MCOs, providers, and other HHS divisions to manage and address the critical needs of members on the Iowa Medicaid urgent member list; analyzes facts and data to identify root cause of problems to address member needs; meets with managers, supervisors, and consultants of other social and human services organizations to coordinate plans for members with critical, complex, and urgent needs; accesses multiple HHS systems including MMIS, IMPA, IoWANS, OnBase and WISE to obtain critical information related to an individual’s needs.

The ideal candidate will have:
• Knowledge of Medicaid home and community-based services
• Detailed knowledge of Iowa Medicaid's policies, services, and supports including understanding of the Medicaid waiver programs
• Knowledge of case management standards, community integration methods and the targeted populations served
• Experience navigating through tense situations
• Strong oral communication
Requirement of position:
This is a hybrid position, in-office days in Des Moines twice a week and as needed.
Preferred, but not required:
Licensed Masters Social Worker (LMSW); Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW); Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMCH); Registered Nurse; Master's degree in a human services field

Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited four year college or university and the equivalent of six years of full-time experience in a social work capacity in a public or private agency;
