The Philadelphia Water Department and Health Department are hiring journey level Electricians. No license required!
They are seeking candidates with four years of experience in the electrical trade OR post high school electrical program and two years of experience.
This is full performance level electrical systems work in the alteration, installation, maintenance and repair of the City’s electrical infrastructure, wire and cable/lines. An employee in this class performs preventive maintenance of the systems and repairs a wide variety of the system components and equipment. Work includes inspecting, testing, diagnosing and installing system components and equipment. This class is differentiated from the lower level class in the series by the responsibility for independently performing the full scope of electrical troubleshooting, diagnosing and repairing work. Work is performed under the supervision of a technical supervisor and involves physical effort and exposure to disagreeable environmental conditions.
OPTION 1:
1. EDUCATION
Education equivalent to the completion of the twelfth school grade.
AND
2. GENERAL EXPERIENCE
Four years of experience installing, repairing and maintaining electrical equipment powered by at least 440 volts.
OR
OPTION 2:
1. EDUCATION
Completion of post high school electrician trades program from an accredited technical institute, trade school or college, including possession of a diploma indicating completion of all program curriculum requirements.
AND
2. GENERAL EXPERIENCE:
Two years of experience installing, repairing and maintaining electrical equipment powered by at least 440 volts.
OR
OPTION 3:
Possession of a valid electrical contractor’s license, issued by the Philadelphia Department of Licenses & Inspections, at time of application.
