What You Will Be Doing:
The Division of Public Assistance (DPA) has a statewide workflow management model to process benefit applications and paperwork. You will play a part in the division's decision-making process regarding eligibility and workflow management. In this position, you will supervise a team of Eligibility Technician 1 positions and provide support through coaching, mentoring, and training using various methods. The team operates as the first point of contact for clients on a statewide basis. You will use your journey-level public assistance knowledge, programmatic experience, and understanding of agency operations to assign and review work and interpret policies and procedures. You will also be the first point of contact for building and maintenance issues.Mission and Values/Culture:

The Working Environment You Can Expect:
This position joins a statewide eligibility workflow team in local Public Assistance offices across the state. The work location is 4001 Ingra Street, STE 131, Anchorage, AK 99503.

- Flexibility: Is open to change and new information; adapts behavior or work methods in response to new information, changing conditions, or unexpected obstacles; effectively deals with uncertainty.
Requirements
One year of entry level experience as an Eligibility Technician 1 with the State of Alaska;OR
One year performing similar work that developed knowledge and skills in applying program requirements and working with client customers in stressful situations.
Substitution:
Post-secondary education in such fields as sociology, social work, psychology, counseling, human services, vocational rehabilitation, developmental disabilities, behavioral sciences, business, public administration, or accounting may substitute for the required experience (undergraduate credits: 2.67 semester/4 quarter hours = 1 month).
