Main Purpose of Job

The Maryland Health Services Cost Review Commission (HSCRC) seeks a Healthcare Data Management and Integrity (HDMI) Analyst to assist with developing, directing, and implementing tasks related to the clinical and financial data reporting required by all hospitals under the jurisdiction of the HSCRC. The primary responsibility of the HDMI Analyst is to verify that hospitals are complying with HSCRC policies, regulations, and procedures. Specifically, the HDMI Analyst will be responsible for the following tasks: perform detailed annual reviews of the Special Audit reports; promptly investigate patient billing complaints; reconcile special purpose accounts; process data request applications and Data Use Agreements (DUA) forms; assist with organizing quarterly stakeholder meetings; maintain the accuracy of the HSCRC website and hospital data contacts lists; and assist with updates and revisions of data submission requirements for financial, clinical, and supplemental data.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Qualified candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and two or more years of healthcare administration experience and the ability to report work to internal and external stakeholders.

The desired candidate should possess: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with colleagues, patients and/or HSCRC/hospital management Personal computer literacy with a strong proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite and data analysis tools and techniques Self-motivation and the ability to work in a self-directed team by taking and giving direction and sharing in the responsibility of the team

SELECTION PROCESS

This is a Management Service position and serves at the pleasure of the Appointing Authority. A resume must accompany your application. BENEFITS

Contractual employees who work for an agency covered under the State Employee and Retiree Health and Welfare Benefits Program, have a current employment contract and work 30 or more hours a week (or on average 130 hours per month) may be eligible for subsidized health benefits coverage for themselves and their dependents. As a contractual employee, you will be responsible for paying 25% of the premiums for your medical and prescription coverage, including any eligible dependents you have enrolled. The State of Maryland will subsidize the remaining 75% of the cost for these benefits. You can also elect to enroll in dental coverage, accidental death and dismemberment insurance, and life insurance, but will be responsible to pay the full premium for these benefits. Leave may be granted to a contractual employee who has worked 120 days in a 12 month period. This leave accrues at a rate of one hour for every 30 hours worked, not to exceed 40 hours per calendar year.
