Mental Health Center Manager--B



NEDHSA is a designated approved National Health Service Corps (NHSC) site. Clinicians who work at NHSC-approved sites are eligible to apply to the NHSC Loan Repayment Program to pay off student loans.
  • 2-year Full-Time Clinical Practice: NHSC will pay up to $50,000* for an initial 2 years of full-time clinical practice to clinicians.
(Full-time clinical practice is defined as no less than 40 hours per week, for a minimum of 45 weeks per year).

•     Operation Golden Years-provides increased awareness, support, and services for those sixty and above in our 12 parish region.
•    Operation Leave No Veteran Behind-ensure that military veterans in Northeast LA have quality and competent primary and behavioral health care
•     Financial Literacy Partnership with Pelican State Credit Union- service our staff and clients
•    NEDHSA Wellness at Work Initiative-designed to relieve employees’ stress and burnout

NEDHSA plans to build additional, esteemed partnerships this year to deepen meaningful integrated behavioral and primary healthcare within the region. To help the citizens realize more positive outcomes and stability, NEDHSA will continue to employ a more cohesive, progressive approach among our systems and processes.

This position may be filled by Probation, Promotion, Demotion, Lateral Transfer or Detail to Special Duty.  Preference may be given to permanent classified employees of Northeast Delta Human Services Authority.  

Applicants will be required to serve a probationary period of not less than 12 months and not more than 24.  

International degrees require submission of an equivalency evaluation with the application.

Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A master’s degree in a social science, health or human services, or health administration field plus four years of experience in health services, social services, nursing, or counseling; OR

A doctorate in a social science, health or human services, or health administration field, or a medical degree plus three years of experience in health services, social services, nursing, or counseling.

To direct a large mental health center.

 

LEVEL OF WORK:

Manager.

 

SUPERVISION RECEIVED:

Administrative direction from a Mental Health Regional Director or higher-level administrator.

 

SUPERVISION EXERCISED:

Direct line over clinical and support staff.

 

LOCATION OF WORK:

Department of Health and Hospitals, Office of Mental Health; Human Services Districts.

 

JOB DISTINCTIONS:

Differs from the Mental Health Center Manager--A by the presence of responsibility for managing a large mental health center.

 

Differs from the Mental Health Regional Administrators by the absence of responsibility for managing a mental health region.

Serves as Manager of a comprehensive mental health center.

Plans, develops, and directs programs that meet the clinical needs of the residents of the service area, such as outpatient services, community support programs, partial hospitalization services, 24- hour emergency services, screening and consultation to courts and coroners, quality assurance programs, consultation and education services, continuity services, and inpatient services.

Serves as a staff advisor to a center advisory board. Supervises subordinate manpower responsible for directing the work of various disciplines, support staff, and administrative services.

Determines organizational requirements of personnel, materials, supplies, and equipment.

Develops budget requests and monitors expenditures.

May provide case supervision as requested.
