Position Overview: 

Under the supervision of the Pharmacist-in-Charge, provides technical support for Class D Pharmacy operations, including medication preparation, 340B inventory management, and record keeping. Assists in maintaining compliance with Texas State Board of Pharmacy regulations and 340B Drug Pricing Program requirements while supporting the delivery of pharmaceutical services across clinic locations.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Maintains accurate inventory control systems, including receiving, storing, and tracking 340B and non-340B medications according to Class D Pharmacy requirements.

  • Processes and prepares medications for distribution to clinic locations, ensuring proper labeling, documentation, and segregation of 340B and non-340B inventory.

  • Assists with 340B program documentation, including maintaining patient eligibility records, prescription records, and inventory tracking in split-billing software.

  • Performs pre-packaging and re-packaging of medications under pharmacist supervision, following established procedures and maintaining separate 340B and non-340B inventory.

  • Monitors medication storage conditions and maintains appropriate environmental controls across assigned areas while ensuring proper segregation of 340B inventory.

  • Assists with quality assurance activities, including checking expiration dates, maintaining cleanliness, and participating in safety protocols for both 340B and non-340B inventory.

Requirements

Experience:

  • At least two (2) years of experience in a pharmacy setting.

  • Experience with inventory management systems required.

Education:

  • High school diploma or GED certificate

Licensures:

  • Current Pharmacy Technician certification required. 

  • Active registration with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy (TSBP).

  • Valid TX Driver's License.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of pharmacy operations and regulations while supporting pharmacy supervision across multiple sites.

  • Proficient in pharmacy systems and quality assurance with focus on accurate documentation and process compliance.

  • Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)

  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)

  • Ability to work well with the public and staff members

Position Type and Typical Hours of Work:

  • Full Time | Regular

  • Monday through Friday, from 8am to 5 pm.

  • Must be willing to flex work hours when required, including weekends.

  • Able to travel within Harris County as needed.

Work Environment:

  • Work is primarily performed at the main office location with regular travel to clinic locations throughout Harris County. Work is conducted in climate-controlled pharmacy environments. The position requires travel between sites and occasional standing for extended periods. Exposure to standard pharmacy conditions with minimal safety hazards when proper procedures are followed.

Physical Demands:

  • The position occasionally requires standing or bending. Occasional lifting up to fifty (50) pounds may be required. Travel between clinic locations is required.
