What You Will Be Doing:

In this supervisory position, you will identify project goals and objectives, manage scope, and oversee the tasks, timelines, and resources required to advance the Division of Public Assistance’s (DPA) Eligibility Information System-Modernization Roadmap. 

DPA’s Roadmap outlines the Division’s project plan to migrate DPA programs from the legacy Eligibility Information System (EIS) to a modernized and integrated eligibility system that enables DPA staff to issue correct and timely benefits to Alaskans more efficiently.

Who We Are Looking For:

We are interested in candidates who possess some or all of the following position-specific competencies:

  • Project Management: Knowledge of the principles, methods, or tools for developing, scheduling, coordinating, and managing projects and resources, including monitoring and inspecting costs, work, and contractor performance.
  • Program Oversight: Plans, coordinates, and monitors programs to ensure that federal, state, and/or local government program requirements and plans are met, providing professional consultation on the specialized services of the program or associated project(s).
  • Adaptability: Adjusts planned work by gathering relevant information and applying critical thinking to address multiple demands and competing priorities in a changing environment. 
  • Capital Planning and Investment Assessment: Knowledge of the principles and methods of capital investment analysis or business case analysis, including return on investment analysis.
  • Configuration Management: Knowledge of the principles and methods for planning or managing the implementation, update, or integration of information systems components.
  • Decision Making: Makes sound, well-informed, and objective decisions; perceives the impact and implications of decisions; commits to action, even in uncertain situations, to accomplish organizational goals; causes change.
  • Operating Systems: Knowledge of computer network, desktop, and mainframe operating systems and their applications.

SUPPLEMENTAL QUESTIONS

For your application to be evaluated, you must answer the Supplemental Questions. 


The State of Alaska uses four proficiency levels to measure and describe an applicant's level of competence in applying certain behaviors, knowledge, skills, and abilities to accomplish a specific task. The four proficiency levels are Mastery, Fluency, Literacy, and Discovery. You must rate your proficiency level for each competency listed in the supplemental questions. 

 
EDUCATION 

To verify education is being used to meet and/or support the required minimum qualifications/competencies, you must fill in the Education section of the application. If you have not obtained a degree, please indicate the number of units completed. Copies of transcripts are required to verify educational credentials used to meet or support the minimum qualifications/competencies for a position and are required with each application.
