Your Specific Responsibilities:
Schedules appointments according to policies and procedures. Reviews schedules to ensure they are kept current and appointments are scheduled according to our in-house policies and procedures. Notifies supervisor of any problems with scheduling. Identifies any problems in the clinic and notifies supervisor. Assigns and prioritizes work assignments as required.
Interviews and screens patients for eligibility determination and registration to programs being seen in. Checks to ensure that all demographic and financial information has been obtained and entered into the Health Management system accurately. Verifies insurance information and inputs it in HMS. Operates photo copy machine, computer, fax machine and any other related office equipment.
Scans appropriate documentation in HMS for Electronic Health Records. Maintains hard record copies in orderly fashion and schedule for record retention.
Has knowledge of Medicaid, Medicare, third party insurance and sliding fee billing. Bills services according to policy and procedures. Keeps up to date with changes with billing procedures and fees as they occur.
Communicates administrative and clerical policies and procedures to other staff. Incumbent will deal with day to day issues in a tactful and courteous manner when dealing with customers, both internal and external. Works with supervisor to ensure clerical policies and procedures are being followed.
Reviews reports daily on all clients seen to ensure transactions of clients are accounted for. Verifies money collected is accounted for and balanced before transferring to the accounting office for deposit at the end of each day. Completes appropriate forms for this process.
Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

- Ability to organize and maintain filing systems.
- Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments. Ability to maintain effective work relationships.
Other job-related requirements for this position:
Emergency Duty: Incumbent may be required to work before, during and/or beyond normal work hours or days in the event of an emergency. Emergency duty required of the incumbent includes working in special needs or Red Cross shelters, or performing other emergency duties including, but not limited to, responses to or threats involving any disaster or threat of disaster, man-made or natural.
Confidentiality: Incumbent may have access to records containing Social Security numbers in the performance of their job duties.
