Social Worker 3
The Iowa Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) is seeking an energetic and talented Social Worker 3 to provide social work services to the patients admitted to the facility for inpatient hospitalization at the Independence Mental Health Institute (IMHI). This is a full-time, Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. position with HHS offering opportunity for advancement, growth, and development.
IMHI's mission is to administer quality mental health services in a caring, supportive, and individualized atmosphere. The Social Worker 3 works with their assigned patients in collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team. Some duties include performing casework and group work services, providing intensive casework services for patients with difficult, complex, and complicated problems, and advocating for patients approaching discharge to support post-discharge success.
Applicants will be required to complete a background check to be considered for this position.
IMHI provides inpatient treatment and acute psychiatric services, includingindividualized treatment plans and support for children and adolescent patients to continue their education. Individuals are encouraged to collaborate with staff members in formulating their own plan. Medication, group counseling, and activities therapies might be included as well. Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree and the equivalent of three years of full-time experience in a social work capacity in a public or private agency;
