Supervisor, Maternal Mental Health Counselor, LMSW/LCP

Position Overview:
The Clinical Counselor Supervisor is responsible for providing clinical and administrative supervision of Clinical Counselors, Case Managers and Interns, and support the Maternal Mental Health Program by providing direct mental health services such as individual and/or group counseling sessions. This program intends to expand mental health resource navigation by providing access to comprehensive mental health services to individuals navigating the challenges of pregnancy and parenthood from pre-conception to postpartum periods. The Clinical Counselor Supervisor is accountable for ensuring delivery of exceptional services that are focused on the client's needs
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assess for participant's needs by reviewing and collaborating with Case Managers and Interns on mental health screenings and needs identification to address physical, emotional and mental wellbeing.
- Engage with clients and their supportive networks including but not limited to healthcare providers to achieve progress towards care plan goals
- Reviewing psychosocial assessments in collaboration with counselors and case managers to formulate treatment plans as needed
- Review and assist in tracking key performance measures for the program and assist in collaboration with project coordinator that progress of metrics are being met by staff.
- Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions when needed with program participants and maintain care plan progress of each participant.
- Evaluate and record clients’ overall program progress, including assessments, home visits, progress notes, referrals, follow-up interactions in the EMR and initiate community mental health referrals.
- Build and maintain trusted relationships with program participants, partners, stakeholders, and administrators.
- Communicate participant information and needs with the program manager, coordinator, case manager, and any relevant staff as needed
- Conducts outreach activities to inform community groups/agencies about Maternal Mental Health Program services.

Requirements
Education:

- Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Public Health, Health Education, or related field.
- Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)
- Valid TX Driver’s License (upon hire)
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience providing direct mental health services
- Minimum of one (1) year of supervisory experience
- Maintain necessary licensure and certifications required to practice in the State of Texas.
- Experienced in trauma-informed care
- Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Excellent communication skills (verbal & written)
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and foster teamwork in a diverse environment
- Ability to maintain confidentiality when dealing with sensitive information
- Ability to work well with public and staff members
- Ability to obtain and filter information, identify, and address key issues relevant to the achievement of strategic organizational goals

Qualifications
N/APosition Type and Typical Hours of Work:
- Full Time | Regular
- Monday through Friday, from 8am to 5 pm.
- Must be willing to flex work hours when required, including weekends.
- Expected to travel within Harris County jurisdiction.
- This job operates in a professional office environment with occasional visits needed to private residential homes, clinics, and other community organizations. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
- This is a largely sedentary role; however, some duties would require the ability to lift up to 20 pounds and bending & standing for periods at a time.
